Why signing Thiago from Barcelona would have been a terrible mistake

A lot of teams that had been linked with signing Barcelona 45 yard free kick wizard Thiago were certainly heartbroken by the news of his contract extension with the European Champions. He had been seen by a lot of people as a magnificent capture and an an impressive asset in midfield by the teams that do lack in that department, but have talent in other areas. Manchester United, Chelsea, just to mention a few, are the possible clubs that would have managed to sign him, that is if Barcelona would have been willing to sell, something which they clearly made out their intentions by offering the young lad a contract extension. However, would the Thiago transfer been a good thing? Let's consider this scenario deeply.

Definitely, Thiago would have been an impressive capture, considering the level of talent and skill harbored in those legs and youth, and whomever would have managed to sign him would have really "stolen him" as Sir Alex said of Chicharito.....He is the kind of player that gets the ball, and you expect magic at the least. However, there would have been pitfalls to this signing. We all are familiar with the Fabregas saga, and I honestly believe Thiago's case would have been no different.

Well, someone might argue that the reason behind Fabregas' desire to return home is greatly due to the impotence of Arsenal, and you can imagine the level of frustration for a player of Fabregas' caliber if you can go 5-6 years with an empty neck, and only have to wait every four years for the prospect of maybe nailing the World Cup. So with this argument, Fabregas' situation is really valid [...]
